Pope Misses Hub!

Only in the Boston Globe could a headline read:
Pope will bypass Boston in US visit
Instead Benedict XVI will visit the villages of New Amsterdam and Tidewater.

I think the Chattanooga newspaper has a headline that reads, 'Pope Misses Chattanooga.' Same with Biloxi. Yes, only in Boston--the self-appointed 'Hub' of all that supposedly matters--does this news rankle people. Yes, Boston has a 'big' Catholic population. 'Big' as in 'Big Deal.' Get off your high horse, Boston Globe, and come to grips with the reality that Boston is the Hub of nothing but its own self-importance. It's a city to be laughed at and mocked, which it most certainly is once you reach, oh, Springfield.

Good. Ratzi and his predecessors have done enough harm to this city's under 18 population.

I don't blame the Vatican for not coming here. Can you imagine the circus of VOTF, gay and other anti-Catholic demonstrators? It would be a zoo.

Michelle McPhee had a radio show today where she excoriated the Church for the Pope not coming here, and said that the Pope owed Boston an apology for the pedophile scandal. Will people never let that one go? What would it take to move beyond that? More settlement money?

It's the universal Catholic Church, and it's way bigger than parochial Boston.

I'll be heading to NYC to see him next spring. Can hardly wait!
